Happy New Year!

I have been on a brief blogging hiatus over the Christmas period, mostly because my hands were busy stuffing food into my mouth and thus unable to type! :o) I hope you all had a wonderful festive season, perhaps with less of the over-indulgence than I allowed myself! I also hope that wherever you are, the January blues are not hitting you as badly as I seem to be experiencing this year. The post-Christmas depression is usually a fairly sad sight but this year I think the weight gain has made the post-binge guilt all the more difficult to bear. Rather than continue to wallow in self-pity, I'm trying to be positive about this New Year. What do I want to achieve? What would make me happy? I think I need some changes in my life. I just need to figure out what those should be.

If you're anything like me, Write A List! Honestly, it makes every mountain seem climb-able. Wash away those winter blues with a new system!

Failing that, go sales shopping. Killer this year, apparently.

Hey TA, thanks for the tip, I do love lists, might just sit down and make one tonight. As for the sales... well, fortunately for my wardrobe /unfortunately for my bank account, I already hit them!! 4 new pairs of shoes (only €75 for the lot!) Pleasure of a bargain vs. guilt of spending money I don't have... eek! :) Maybe I will lose weight this month simply because I have no money for food!! :)

Well, I was going to just write something encouraging but after reading TA's advice - how can you top that? The sales *are* good this year:) I want to see your new shoes!!

You'll work this out, girl. I know you will. And just remember you have plenty of company in the journey:)

Hey, I hope you feel better soon! The January Blues are awful. One of my solutions lately has been focusing on small obtainable fitness goals, like getting an hour of exercise every day. Working out boosts endorphins which makes you feel better. So does chocolate ^_~ Treat yourself to some Low Fat Hot chocolate! (I make mine by heating up skim milk and adding in just enough hot chocolate mix to give it the right taste, and of course topping it with marshmallows because I am a child inside ^_^)

Reading the comments, now I wanna go shopping!

Hey Charlotte, I've taken a pic of one of my new pairs of shoes, might just add it to my next post! I can't believe I got so many! I'm wearing my new boots today, they're so comfy and SO cute, with buttons up the side they look quite Victorian. Dang I should have mentioned my new shoes in my "thankful" post on TA's blog! :)

Hi Meg! That's a great idea about low-fat hot chocolate, might have to try it this evening. I'm craving sugar like a lunatic at the moment! :)

It's the student diet, to just not have enough money to actually buy food:P

Stay positive! The blues are no fun but we can beat 'em.

The sales are definitely good this year. Shopping gets my vote!

The January blues seem to be going around this year, too. At least you're not alone. ;)
